Oncology is at the heart of the expertise of the IHU Strasbourg's Medical Imaging Centre in Strasbourg, particularly for cancers of the digestive system.
LCT scans and MRI play a central role in any oncological treatment, starting with the initial diagnosis and tumor extension evaluation, then accompanying the patient throughout their course of treatment with imaging at regular intervals, for optimal active monitoring, with the aim of promptly detecting any changes requiring potential therapeutic adaptations.
To be able to select and adapt treatment(s) in the best way possible and to reach the most favourable prognosis, cancer assessments (most often by thoraco-abdominopelvic +/- CT brain scan) require precise knowledge of the different types of cancers and their anatomical routes of spread.
